Second Change Program
Pantry

No hungry critters. No empty bowls.

The Second Chance Program Pantry was created because sometimes people find themselves in a difficult spot and simply need a little help keeping their pets fed. Our household cares for a variety of personal pets, rescue animals, and the cuties within our rattery. Over time, we've found ways to source many of our staple foods, hay, pellets, and other supplies in bulk. Because of that, we often have food available beyond what our own animals need.

If having a little extra food could make the difference between someone getting through a difficult week and having to surrender a beloved pet, we'd much rather help fill a food bowl.

The Pantry is available on a case-by-case basis for small companion animals, including rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, gerbils, mice, and similar small pets. If you're struggling to afford food or have unexpectedly run out, please reach out. We may be able to provide some food, hay, pellets, or other appropriate staples depending on what we have available.

A privately funded program

The Second Chance Program Pantry is not publicly funded and is not currently supported by a dedicated charity or government program. It is funded entirely by Haley and Brian, from our own household resources. Because of that, our ability to help is limited by what we can personally afford to contribute and what supplies we have available at any given time. We cannot guarantee assistance or provide ongoing food supplies indefinitely. Donations made to The Second Chance Program, including adoption fees, are generally directed toward the veterinary care, food, supplies, and other expenses associated with the individual animals surrendered into our care. The Pantry is separate and is currently funded directly by us. That said, if you are struggling, please don't be afraid to ask. We would rather have someone reach out for help than see a pet go hungry or be surrendered simply because their person had a difficult month.

There is no shame in needing a little help sometimes.

If your small critter's bowl is getting empty, reach out. We may be able to help fill it.
